Understanding RGB & CMYK Color Model

What is RGB Color?

RGB stands for Red, Green & Blue. RGB are additive primary color pigments which are mixed together to create so many variety of colors. RGB color model are used to display proper colors in Televisions & Computers. These colors are additive so, combining these colors form Yellow, Magenta, Cyan & White. White color is formed when all of RGB colors are mixed together.

Digitally, RGB color model is primarily used for creating Computer graphics and enhancing Photography color filtering. 

What is CMYK Color?

CMYK stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow & Black. CMYK are subtractive color pigments which are form on combining RED, GREEN & Blue colors. CMYK colors are slightly dull and dark and for that it reduce the rate of colors used during printing any media. One of key benefit of CMYK color is to separate black easily and tone up its level. In Photoshop, you can additionally separate any of color in this model using Channels to convert it into monotone image. Black color is formed when all of CMYK colors are mixed together.

CMYK processed colors are mainly used for color printing.
